Stainless Steel Components

Stainless Steel Powders Metal Parts and ComponentsSintered Stainless Steel Component Parts offer an array of beneficial properties:

  • Optimum corrosion resistance
  • Good weldability
  • High strength and good formability
  • Savings of up to 50% over traditional forming techniques

We develop and manufacture customized components from stainless steel powdered metal, in particular high-quality grades that are guaranteed fully stainless, impermeable and suitable for welding.

At the same time, the material has similar strength to that of solid stainless steel. The process involves pressing the stainless powder into a pre-defined geometry. During the subsequent high-temperature sintering process, the component obtains its final shape and strength. Furthermore, the special sintering process ensures a high quality alloy to meet or exceed your stainless steel component part needs.

Areas of Applications for Powdered Metal Stainless Steel:

  • Fittings, brackets and handles
  • Couplings
  • Special nuts and bolts
  • Pump and motor parts
  • Valves and nozzles
  • Gearwheels

Standard Stainless Steel Specifications

  • MPIF SS-302N2-35
    • Tensile Strength 68,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 45,000PSI
    • Elongation 10% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRB 63-68
    • Recommendations: Austenitic machining grade, preferred for parts requiring extensive machining, non-magnetic high strength and hardness. Good corrosion resistance, requesting the highest corrosion resistance will lower the strength, increase the ductility than that specified.
    • Equivalent to ASTM: B 783-90
  • MPIF SS-304N2-33
    • Tensile Strength 70,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 45,000PSI
    • Elongation 15% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRB 63-68
    • Recommendations: General purpose austenitic grade, has good strength and corrosion resistance. Non-magnetic and non-machinable. Weak magnetic property. Requesting the highest corrosion resistance will lower the strength, increase ductility than that specified.
    • Equivalent to ASTM: B 783-90
  • MPIF SS-316N2-38
    • Tensile Strength 70,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 45,000PSI
    • Elongation 13% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRB 63-70
    • Recommendations: Corrosion resistance is better than SS-303. First choice for general applications. Non-magnetic, Requesting the highest corrosion resistance will lower the strength, increase ductility than that specified.
    • Equivalent ASTM: B 783-90
  • MPIF SS-410-90HT
    • Tensile Strength 105,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 105,000PSI
    • Elongation <0.5% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRC 20
    • Recommendation: Used in applications requiring hardness and wear resistance. Carbon is added for increased heat-treatment response. It has fair corrosion resistance and poor machinability.
    • Equivalent ASTM: B 783-90
  • MPIF SS-430N2-28
    • Tensile Strength 60,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 35,000PSI
    • Elongation 5% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRB 63-68
    • Recommendations: Lower magnetic properties than the 410 series but has higher corrosion and elongation. Used where a higher fatigue life and corrosion resistance is needed above the 410 series. Requesting the highest corrosion resistance will lower the strength, increase ductility than that specified.
  • SS-434N4
    • Tensile Strength 55,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 42,000PSI
    • Elongation 15% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRB 75-95
    • Recommendations: Lower magnetic properties than the 430 series but has higher corrosion resistance than any 400 series. Used where a higher fatigue life and corrosion is critical and a 300 series is not practical. Requesting the highest corrosion resistance will lower the strength, increase ductility than that specified.
  • MIM 17-4PH (MIM)
    • Tensile Strength 190,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 170,000PSI
    • Elongation 6% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRC 41
    • Recommendations: Precipitation hardening stainless steel used in applications requiring high strength good ductility, and good corrosion resistance such as for medical, surgical, and firearms parts. Properties listed are in the “H900” heat treated condition.
    • Equivalent MPIF MIM-17-4 PH solution treated and aged.
  • MIM 316L (MIM)
    • Tensile Strength 78,000PSI
    • Yield Strength 30,000PSI
    • Elongation 50% per inch
    • Apparent Hardness HRC 68
